Self Leadership

Nigeria at 60 It's alarmingly worrisome that Nigeria is just aging but rarely growing. Only the sycophants of government would agree less. Our status quo is far from being commensurate with our wealth and resources. And to argue that still remaining as one indivisible country is worth celebrating, is a charade. Is like trying to draw fresh water from a bitter source. Leadership is jeopardizing living together as one entity. Our patriotism and resolve are being threatened and severed on daily basis. Incidentally, the country's future looks bleaker now than before. Recent events raise more fear than hope. It is heart-wrenching to see that the number of people who are ready to steal is more than those who are currently stealing. Many unashamedly but braggadociously bent that they are milking the country dry on getting to the corridor of power. This pattern of junk thinking further intensifies my fear. I pray I don't reach my breaking point where I will give up hope on this co...

Intentional

Inarguably, nothing worthwhile gets done without you being deliberate/intentional about it. Not even living. And this is a pitfall young adults should be wary of. Only those who are ambivalent rely on the rhetorics of luck and charm to achieve something. "Whatever will be will be" is a hoax. What so ever you do not intentionally make be will not be. Unknowingly to people, luck itself is what we make it, not what is thrust upon us. You don't get lucky while sitting on the sofa with arms crossed doing nothing. The harder you work, the luckier you get.  So, being intentional is an act of making our own choices before others' choices make us. It's choosing to create the life you want, rather than having a life, or other people, dictate your actions.  It's taking an inspired action that is in alignment with your words & truth. It's focusing your energy, time, and attention on important things in your life. "Put these abilities to work; throw yourself i...

5G & Conspiracies

“ History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.” - Ecc 1:9 (NLT) History is a very powerful teacher, for those who are humble enough to subject themselves to its lessons.  One thing I have found is that the efficacy of the word of God remains the same; as Ecc 1:9 says, history repeats itself and NOTHING is new under the sun. I also discovered that every time there has been a major global disaster, there has also been a major global conspiracy.  Yes, we are closer to the coming of Christ, as we are closer to our graves each day, but not every disaster is a vehicle in which our Christ will come. If you must spiritualize COVID-19 and this global lockdown, here’s how: 1. Be humble; to accept the lessons that this is teaching us all  2. Inquire; why secularism has mixed with spiritualism. Why the church has become so integrated with the world. Thus, whatever affects the world, impacts the church.   3. Look ...

The Ugly Nigerian by Femi Aribisala [The Best Satirical and Sermonizing Write-up]

Don’t speak English like an Ibadan man.  Speak with the kind of phonetics that even your mother will wonder where you were born. There are an estimated 190 million Nigerians.  The overwhelming proportion of these will live and die unknown and unsung.  Airports will not be named after them.  Neither will universities be established in their honour.  A hundred years from now, people will not even remember they ever existed, except that they might have some children and grandchildren hanging around. Surely, you don’t want that to happen to you.  You want to be known.  You want to be rich.  You want to be a man or woman of timber and caliber.  There are peculiarly Nigerian ways to achieve this.  The formulas have been firmly established by our good-for-nothing politicians and businessmen.  But don’t worry; they don’t own the copyright to them, so you are free to follow their vainglorious footsteps. If you would like to be a...

Common Sense

Image
They may have stolen our Common Wealth, they cannot steal our Common Sense. In a sane democratic setting, the government should fear the people (electorates), but the otherwise is obtainable in Nigeria. If you must canvass for people's votes, you must show them why you should earn it. No excuse whatsoever is justifiable by anyone to circumvent being present to sell its manifestoes in a debate. Debate helps to calibrate the amount of information, technical know-how, and solutions a candidate has to the socio-economic hardship that stares people in the face. Evading or missing out in a debate not only shows intellectually and political will dryness of the candidate and by extension his moribund supporters, but it also connotes a deliberate disdainful, despicable, contemptuous, and derogatory attitude to the people you want to govern. If a candidate cannot oblige and honor the call of the populace for a debate, what's the probability that the candidate will listen to the yearn...

Invincible

PDP and APC are not invincible, but have only succeeded making other parties invisible. I have always been left inundated whenever I hear people resolve PDP and the candidature of Atiku is not the solution, leaving them with no option than to stick with the candidature of APC, Buhari. No option? For crying out loud, there are over 20 young, astute, vibrant, if not intelligent standard bearers of other political parties, needless to say over 30, vying for the coveted presidency seat. It is out of ignorance to think you lose your vote if you don't commit it to one of the two major parties. You have nothing to lose doing the right thing. Do not join multitude to do evil. That everyone is taking about APC or PDP is not a yardstick for you to give them your mandate.  The culmination of bipolitical party is more defections, for the political gladiators know too well that to continually parade themselves on the corridor of power, just a deceptive defection to a promising election-winn...

Thinkability

Twelve and Dozen is the same. Always remember this when ever APC---PDP hoax comes to mind. "Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!" Shame on me for what? For not learning from your mistake! One had fooled us for 16 good years and they seek to do same again. The other is fooling us with the hope to do more for another 4 years. This is the bitter truth, fellow citizens Stupidity is knowing the truth, seeing the truth, but still believing the lies. Youths wise up! Awake from your sheer stupidity. Don't be deceived by their peddled "Next Level" and "Get Nigeria Working Again" policy documents, they are compendium of blatant lies. The biggest failure is the failure to try. A bad system will beat a good person every time, this I know; but you cannot do the same thing the same way and expect different result. Impossible! Why can't we try change our approach? We can together change our narrative. We can rewrite our story. Your VOTE can...
